"This may surprise some people who have read on the internet that the best openers are words like 'Irate,' 'Salet,' or 'Raise.'" The post went on to say, "The truth is that it depends on how you play and whether you're a person or a computer."
They go on to say that different algorithms take different approaches to solving the problem, and that WordleBot is limited to "about 4,500 words that are more common among English speakers." It didn't seem very helpful for a piece of software to suggest words like "Voema," "Cusso," "Skatt," and "Zebub."
"Besides that, it's important to remember that the best first word for a computer might not be the best first word for you. All 2,309 answers that WordleBot has stored in its memory are correct. You almost certainly won't. Even if the bot knows that a certain guess is the best way to go, you might not, and a different guess might be more likely to lead you to the right answer.
"More importantly, as long as you're not playing in "hard mode," every Wordle game can be solved no matter which word you choose first. You can start with "Fuzzy," and we won't stop you."
